Engineering Students Show Off Projects for Trustees
May 11, 2007

UE engineering students have been demonstrating their work the past couple of days while members of the UE Board of Trustees are on campus for their regular spring meetings. Pictured are Anthony Wold (right), Dean Phil Gerhart (far right) and Johnathan Williams (left), showing the combine that they and their team of students built. The combine is a special design for farmers in Bolivia, who are not able to bring in much of their crop because of the high cost of threshing it. Their hope is that these farmers might be able to reproduce this design at a lesser cost than the combines that are currently in use, but not affordable for many. Electrical Engineering Professor John Parr, who has traveled to Bolivia several times on mission trips, has worked on a variety of projects with students for years for the Bolivian people.
