UE Professor Mark Valenzuela to Discuss Engineering Design
The speaker for the University of Evansville’s annual Andiron Lecture Series on March 14 will be Mark Valenzuela, associate professor of civil engineering. His topic will be “The Role of Failures in Engineering Design: Lessons for Engineers and Non-Engineers Alike.” All the Andiron Lectures are set for 4 p.m. in Room 200, Union. They are all free and open to the public. Valenzuela has taught at the University of Evansville since 1999. He earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Vanderbilt University and his master’s and doctoral degrees in structural engineering from Cornell University. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Indiana. His work in nondestructive evaluation of existing structures grows out of a deep respect for the history of structures and the social implications of civil engineering as a profession. |
