UE Civil Students Tour Deaconess Hospital Construction Site

The University of Evansville student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers visited the construction site of the new Deaconess Hospital on the east side on Tuesday Feb. 15. On the beautiful springlike afternoon Industrial Contractors, Inc. (ICI) project managers provided a tour for the UE civil engineering students and faculty. The tour provided an upclose encounter with various details of the steel skeleton for the structure and construction techniques. The new facility is 480,000 square feet and consists of a seven story hospital, four story medical office building, and three story heart building. The construction project includes the site development of the 36 acre location near the intersection of the Lloyd Expressway and I-164.
