Welcome to the Civil Engineering Program at the University of Evansville - Winner of the 2009 ASCE LeFevre Award: Top Small-School Civil Engineering Program in America About Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that is dedicated to improving the quality of life through sustainable design and construction. Community, societal, and environmental needs are met through the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of public works and private facilities.
Civil engineers apply their technical knowledge and skills to diverse projects including:
Civil engineering career opportunities exist in industry, government, and the private sector. Practice areas include design, construction, project management, consulting, research, and teaching. UE Civil Engineering Curriculum
The civil engineering curriculum prepares students to meet present and future challenges in the profession and develop insight into economic, physical, social, and political constraints affecting the engineering decision-making process. Global Civil Engineering
Today's engineers must be adept at working in a global marketplace. To assist engineers in meeting that challenge, the University of Evansville provides students with an opportunity for an international experience at our British campus, Harlaxton College. Other opportunities are periodically planned. In the fall of 2008, a group of civil engineering students travelled to the Dominican Republic to work with people from a different culture to design a church and sports complex. Participants agreed this experience was valuable and even life-changing. Feel free to browse. Should you have any questions, please contact us using the "Contact ME/CE Department" link below. |
