Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering
Accreditation
UE Accreditation

The University of Evansville’s Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering degrees are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Inc. The Mechanical Engineering program has been accredited since 1970 and the Civil Engineering program since 1997.

In 2009, both programs were re-accredited.

“We are pleased to learn that, once again the University of Evansville's Engineering programs have been accredited,” said Philip Gerhart, dean of the College of Engineering & Computer Science. "Maintaining accreditation is critical to any engineering program; in many states, you can’t receive your registration as a professional engineer, or receive admittance to graduate school, without a degree from an accredited program.

“So obviously, for our students to truly achieve their goals, it is imperative that we maintain the standards set forward by ABET. And this announcement verifies that the Engineering programs at UE have, once again, met and exceeded those standards.”
