Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering
Excellence in Engineering Education

Welcome to the University of Evansville's Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering

It is an exciting time to be an engineering student at the University of Evansville. Mechanical engineering and civil engineering students are active learners who participate in study abroad programs and practice sustainable design in their senior capstone projects. For the past three years, students have designed real world projects, including projects in the Dominican Republic and Bolivia. Students participate in team competitions, such as the NASA-sponsored moon buggy, the SAE formula car, and the ASCE concrete canoe and steel bridge events. Small classes and project-oriented laboratories are taught by professors dedicated to preparing graduates to assume their role in a highly technical, competitive society. Both the mechanical engineering and civil engineering degrees are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET, Inc.

Exciting Endeavors for UE Engineering Students

Every year at the University of Evansville, mechanical and civil engineering students are either required or encouraged to participate in a project. These projects test the students' engineering skills as well as give them much needed experience in a real environment. Below are some examples of projects that are offered to the mechanical and civil engineering students.
